Humanable

More about the HUMANABLE® Movement.

Together we can preserve human creativity in music.

Lots of musicians have already joined the Humanable Movement, all of whom are fighting for human creativity and communicating that their music is made only by humans, for humans. More are joining us every day, you should too.

What is Next

What is next?

With your help, we have a chance to save human-created music and preserve its appreciation. Our goal is to have a Humanable toggle installed on major platforms so consumers know they are listening to human-created music.

How does it work?

We are so glad you asked. After you create an account, verify your identity, which only takes minutes, then we can get on to the fun part! Now, you can sign up for a Humanable membership!

Once you are in our user portal, you will start certifying your music! You will tell us a little about each piece of art you are uploading and verify through agreeing to our terms of service that the music was created without Generative AI.

Once you have completed that step, that piece of art will be Humanable certified, and our system will issue you a license to use our Humanable trademark for your record cover or promotional material. The mark will let fans know that your music is human-created, not robot music. Then, you will officially be a Humanable® artist! (Yay!)

Meet the Team

Tim Wipperman

Tim Wipperman, CEO

Tim began his musical journey as a classically trained trumpet player, who dove into Dixieland jazz and R+B during his college years. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Political Science, and was invited to visit Nashville by his ASCAP and Hall of Fame songwriter cousin Rory Bourke.

He fell in love with the music business, and was hired by Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed to run Vector Music . He was then offered a job at Cedarwood publishing, and subsequently Combine Music, where he worked with Kris Kristofferson as a song plugger. Warner Bros Music Publishing (predecessor to Warner Chappell) asked him to start the publishing operation in Nashville, and he remained as the senior executive at Warner Chappell for 29 years. In his tenure Warner Chappell won well over 500 multi genre PRO awards, multiple Publisher of the Year awards, Grammy, CMA and ACM Songs of the Year.

He then formed Rezonant Music Publishing, focused on acquiring the catalogs of, and futures for, highly successful songwriters. He signed Hillary Lindsay (recent inductee into the U.S. Songwriters Hall of Fame), Ross Copperman (4 X BMI Songwriter of the year), Kevin Kadish, (Meghan Trainors #1 “All About That Bass”) and formed a joint venture with ASCAP board member Ree Guyer for both her past catalog and futures.

In 2018 Rezonant had 21 of the Top 100 Country Singles for that year. Portions of Rezonant were then sold to Anthem Entertainment, and Tim agreed to join Anthem as President of Anthem Publishing in Nashville. He helped lead Anthem to being a Top 10 U.S. Billboard Publisher for the first time.

In 2022 he agreed to join multinational record and digital distribution company ONErpm as Managing Director, in order to gain competency in the digital distribution ecosystem. Tim has served on the industry boards of Copyright Society of the South (Founder, Chair), Grammys(NARAS), Country Music Foundation (Trustee, Chair of Finance), Country Music Association (Chair of Finance), Country Music Hall of Fame (Chair of Finance), Academy of Country Music, Nashville Symphony ( Chair of Marketing), Leadership Music (President).

A few of community boards he has served are; Tennessee State University Foundation, Tennessee Special Olympics, Middle Tennessee Alcohol and Drug Council, and Leadership Nashville.

Statement
From a start at age 7 as a musician, to this day, my life has been molded by a love of music and its creators. I have founded and run both independent music publishing companies, and divisions of major publishers. Without the songwriters, all of us in the business world would be without careers, so I believe it is our responsibility to protect and advocate for those who feed us.

Lili McGrady

Lili McGrady, President & Co-Founder

Lili McGrady, President of Humanable, co-founded the company in September 2024. She moved to Nashville in 2023 and accidentally grassrooted herself in the local dive bar music scene. After quickly making friends with very talented musicians and songwriters, she heard the same concern repeatedly: "I am scared Generative AI is going to eat my lunch." Determined to fix it, Lili and her co-founders realized the solution may be in their backgrounds in the trademark industry, and the Humanable trust mark was born. Humanable’s goal is to protect human-made music and its ability to be royalty bearing in the age of Generative AI. Humanable achieves this by certifying songs or masters as Generative AI free through affidavits, and issuing the Humanable trust mark and certification number.
